Shopping spree

It's an open secret (actually, it's a fact) that I love shopping at Banana Republic (BR for short). In one visit on Sunday (it finally showed up on credit card), I spent $117 (2 shirts and 1 pair of pants for work). Plus $60 for shoes. I admit that I like to impulse-shop, especially there is a justification for it. Any advice on how to be more desciplined?

Be sure to print these coupons before your shopping spree:

15% off $75 at BR (store and online, exp 10/30)
$10 off $50 at Lowe's (store only, exp 10/30)

    1) Don't go
    2) Go, but dont' bring any cash, credit cards, or debit cards. If you see something you really want, and go back later and only buy that specific item. Maybe by then you'll not want it and you won't go and buy it.

good tips! telling Jen not to go shopping is like telling a fat kid not to eat cookies . . . haha, maybe i need a restraining order to stay away.

    im gonna keep it real...
i have the exact same problem with impulse shopping. sometimes i get to thinking that i 'deserve' rewards for all of my hard work, which i do, but its good to have limits.

going and not bringing cash is a great idea, but chances are if youre IMPULSIVELY shopping...you probably wouldnt have time to not bring cash etc...maybe leave that stuff in the car?

i decided that i had to budget allowances for that stuff. it makes me feel better so i do end up with some hot looking outfit and a side of buyers remorse. its cool if you have 100-200 each month that you know you can spend freely on clothing. that will also help you to be more choosy about where you spend it!

    sorry, i got long-winded...

it's somewhat relieving to know that other people have faced similar problem. i'll give your method a try, but i know i always overspend!
